Personal Property Assessment

All owners of business personal property must complete and return a personal property declaration to the Assessor no later than November 1st annually. Declarations are mailed in September and must be filed by November 1st. Failure to file by that date will subject you to a 25% penalty. Business personal property includes everything used in your business except real estate. It would include such things as furniture, fixtures, computer equipment, tools, machinery, non-registered motor vehicles, signs, leasehold improvements, vending machines, leased equipment and any other equipment used in your business. Other types of personal property that may be required to be filed are horses and farm equipment.
