The Board of Assessment Appeals is an official municipal agency. It is designed to serve as an appeal body for taxpayers who believe that the city assessor erred in the valuation of their properties or erroneously denied them exemptions. Hearings are held during the month of March for those wishing to appeal their Real Estate, Personal Property, or Supplemental Motor Vehicle assessments. Written applications for appeals must be submitted to the Board by 3:00 p.m. February 20, 2024 for assessments on the October 1, 2023 Grand List.  Regular Motor Vehicle appeals for the October 1, 2022 Grand List (July 2023 tax bills) will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 7:00 PM.  Appeals will be heard on a first come first serve basis.  Applications will be available at the meeting.  The date and time will be published in the Norwich Bulletin as required.
